Our Story

 

The Hub began with Jo’s dream of opening a pet shop and grooming parlour in Stanstead Abbotts, closer to her dad and the local community.

​

When she found a building larger than she needed, she saw an opportunity and asked:

“What if this space could become something for the whole community?”

​

With help from friends, family and volunteers, four months of cleaning, decorating and renovation transformed a neglected building into a warm, welcoming space.

 

The pet shop didn’t work out as a business, but something else was growing. People were meeting, sharing ideas and making connections and The Hub began to find its purpose.
