These Terms & Conditions set out the terms that apply when using our website, booking or attending activities, events and services promoted through our website, hiring our spaces, or otherwise engaging with The Hub

By using this website, making a booking, purchasing a ticket, hiring a space or attending an activity at The Hub, you agree to these

Terms & Conditions together with any additional terms that may apply to a particular event, service or booking

1. About The Hub

The Hub Stanstead Abbotts CIC is a Community Interest Company providing a community space for connection, wellbeing, learning, creativity, participation and local activities

The Hub may provide activities directly and may also host independent practitioners, facilitators, community groups, businesses, organisations, event organisers and other third parties

Where an activity or service is provided by an independent third party, that provider may have their own terms and conditions which will also apply

2. Use of Our Website

You agree to use this website responsibly and lawfully.

You must not use the website:

For any unlawful or fraudulent purpose

To attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems

To interfere with the operation or security of the website

To upload or transmit malicious software

To impersonate another person or organisation

To misuse our contact forms, booking systems or other facilities

To copy or reproduce website content without appropriate permission; or in any way that could damage The Hub, our community, our reputation or other users

 

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the website where we reasonably believe these Terms & Conditions have been breached

However, events, activities, prices, opening times, availability, practitioners, services and other information may change

We reserve the right to correct errors and update information without prior notice

The availability of an event, service, practitioner or activity on the website does not guarantee that it will remain available

 

4. Events and Activities

The Hub may organise, host or promote a wide range of activities, including but not limited to:

Community events

Talks and presentations

Workshops

Classes

Health and wellbeing activities

Exercise and movement sessions

Creative activities

Educational sessions

Personal development activities

Children's and young people's activities

Social gatherings

Support and community groups

Markets and community events; and activities delivered by independent practitioners or organisations

 

Individual events may have additional terms, age restrictions, booking requirements or participation requirements

Please read the information provided for the specific event before booking.

5. Bookings

Where advance booking is required, your place is only confirmed once the booking process has been completed and, where applicable, payment has been received

Some activities may be available on a first-come, first-served basis

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a booking where there is a reasonable and legitimate reason to do so, including where an event is full, cancelled, incorrectly advertised, or where participation would not be appropriate

Where The Hub cancels a paid booking, we will provide an appropriate refund or alternative arrangement in accordance with the specific booking terms

6. Payments

Where payment is required, the price applicable at the time of booking will be displayed wherever reasonably possible

Prices may vary between events, services and activities

Unless otherwise stated, payment must be made in accordance with the booking instructions provided

The Hub may use third-party payment providers to process payments

We do not normally have access to your full payment card details when payments are processed through an external payment provider

 

7. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation and refund arrangements may vary depending on the event, activity, service or booking

Where specific cancellation terms are provided when booking, those terms will apply

If no specific cancellation policy is provided, we will deal with cancellation requests reasonably and in accordance with applicable consumer law

Where an event is cancelled by The Hub, we will contact affected customers where appropriate and provide information about any available refund, transfer or alternative arrangement

Certain costs or services provided by independent practitioners or third-party organisers may be subject to their own cancellation and refund policies

8. Changes to Events

We reserve the right to change an event, including its date, time, location, format, facilitator or content, where reasonably necessary

Where a significant change is made, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice

If an event cannot proceed, we will provide information regarding any available alternative date, transfer or refund where applicable

 

9. Room Hire

The Hub may make rooms and spaces available for hire by individuals, practitioners, community groups, businesses, organisations and other users

Anyone hiring space at The Hub agrees to:

Use the space only for the agreed purpose

Respect the building, equipment and facilities

Follow all reasonable instructions from The Hub

Comply with health and safety requirements

Leave the space clean and tidy

Take responsibility for their attendees and guests

Not exceed the agreed capacity

Not use the premises for unlawful activities

Not cause unreasonable disturbance to neighbours or other users; and report any damage, accident or incident to The Hub as soon as reasonably possible

 

Additional room-hire terms may apply to individual bookings

 

10. Damage and Loss

Users of The Hub are responsible for taking reasonable care of the building, furniture, equipment and facilities

Where damage is caused through negligence, misuse or deliberate action, The Hub reserves the right to seek reasonable compensation for the cost of repair or replacement

The Hub cannot accept responsibility for personal belongings that are lost, damaged or stolen on the premises.

Please do not leave valuable or personal items unattended

11. Behaviour and Respect

The Hub is intended to be a welcoming and inclusive community space

We expect everyone using The Hub to treat others with dignity, courtesy and respect

We do not tolerate:

Bullying or harassment

Discrimination

Threatening or abusive behaviour

Violence

Intimidation

Hate speech

Sexual harassment

Deliberate damage to property

Unlawful behaviour; or behaviour that places other people at risk

 

We reserve the right to ask anyone behaving inappropriately to leave the premises and, where necessary, to refuse future access

Where appropriate, serious incidents may be reported to the relevant authorities

12. Equality, Inclusion and Accessibility

The Hub aims to provide an inclusive and accessible environment for people of different ages, backgrounds, abilities, cultures, beliefs and life experiences

If you have accessibility requirements or require reasonable adjustments to participate in an activity, please contact us before attending wherever possible so that we can discuss what support may be available

Some buildings, rooms or activities may have physical or practical limitations. We will aim to communicate relevant information honestly and clearly

13. Children and Young People

Some activities at The Hub may involve children or young people

Specific age restrictions, parental consent, supervision and safeguarding arrangements may apply

Unless expressly stated otherwise, parents or guardians remain responsible for children and young people in their care

Children and young people must not attend an activity where the relevant organiser has stated that the activity is for adults only

 

14. Safeguarding

The Hub takes safeguarding seriously

We aim to provide a safe environment for children, young people and adults who may be vulnerable or require additional support

Concerns relating to safeguarding should be reported to The Hub or the relevant event organiser as soon as possible

Where necessary, safeguarding concerns may be referred to appropriate external agencies

15. Independent Practitioners and Service Providers

Some practitioners, therapists, facilitators, teachers, speakers and service providers using The Hub operate independently

Unless specifically stated otherwise, they are not employees of The Hub

Their services, qualifications, prices, professional standards, insurance and terms may be their own responsibility

Where appropriate, you should make your own enquiries before booking an independent service

The Hub does not guarantee the results, suitability or availability of services provided by independent practitioners

 

16. Health and Wellbeing Activities

Some activities may involve exercise, movement, meditation, mindfulness, complementary practices, treatments, personal development or other wellbeing activities

You are responsible for deciding whether an activity is suitable for you

You should tell the relevant organiser or practitioner about any condition, limitation or circumstance that may affect your participation.

17. Food, Products and Services

The Hub may host or promote local producers, food suppliers, businesses, practitioners and other organisations

Unless a product or service is supplied directly by The Hub, responsibility for its quality, safety, ingredients, allergens, suitability, delivery and other characteristics rests with the relevant supplier

Customers should contact the relevant supplier directly where they require specific product information

Anyone with food allergies or dietary requirements should check ingredients and preparation arrangements before consuming food

 

18. Photography, Video and Events

Photography and filming may occasionally take place at events or activities at The Hub for community, promotional or record-keeping purposes

Where photography or filming is planned, we will aim to provide appropriate notice and information

If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed for promotional purposes, please speak to a member of The Hub team or the relevant event organiser

Separate arrangements may apply to children and young people

Unless otherwise stated, content on this website is owned by or licensed to The Hub.

Branding

Photographs

Graphics

Designs

Promotional materials; and other original content

If you have a concern, complaint or problem relating to an event, booking, room hire or service provided directly by The Hub, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible

We will aim to listen to your concerns and deal with complaints fairly and reasonably

Where a complaint concerns an independent practitioner, business or event organiser, we may refer you directly to that provider where

appropriate

 

25. Right to Refuse or End Use of Our Services

 

We reserve the right to refuse a booking, cancel participation or ask a person to leave The Hub where there is a reasonable basis for

doing so

 

This may include circumstances involving:

Unsafe behaviour

Abuse or harassment

Discrimination

Damage to property

Breach of these Terms & Conditions

Unlawful activity

Failure to follow reasonable instructions; or behaviour that significantly affects the safety, wellbeing or enjoyment of others

 

Where possible, we will explain the reason for our decision

 

26. Liability

 

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited

 

Subject to this, The Hub will not be responsible for losses or damage arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control, including events caused by independent third parties, technical failures, cancellations, adverse weather, transport disruption or other unforeseen circumstances
