Share Your Knowledge at The Hub
Speakers, Workshop Leaders & Event Hosts Wanted
Could you give an hour or two to share a skill, experience or idea that could make a difference to someone’s life?
At The Hub, we believe opportunities to learn, connect and find support should be available to everyone, whatever their financial circumstances. We’re inviting people to help us make this possible by giving their time to host an event.
What Could You Offer?
We welcome speakers, professionals, business owners, coaches, community groups and anyone with something valuable to share.
You don’t need to be a professional speaker. Your practical skills, knowledge or life experience could help someone else.
Your event could be a:
Talk, demonstration or Q&A
Practical or creative workshop
Group discussion or networking session
One-off event or regular series
Whether you can offer one hour or something longer, we’d love to hear your ideas.
Ideas to Get You Started
We’re open to a wide range of subjects that benefit our community, including:
Health and wellbeing: Mental wellbeing, movement, nutrition and healthy living.
Everyday support: Budgeting, financial wellbeing, housing, understanding rights and accessing services.
Work and business: CVs, interviews, employment, starting a business and networking.
Personal development: Confidence, communication, motivation and public speaking.
Digital skills: Technology, social media and getting online.
Family and relationships: Parenting, family life and connecting with others.
Creativity and practical skills: Arts, crafts, cooking, gardening, sustainability and hobbies.
History and lived experience: Local history, untold stories and experiences others can learn from.
Have something different in mind? We’d love to hear about it.
What The Hub Provides
For every event we host, The Hub provides freshments and goodies for attendees, helping create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
Donations are appreciated, but there is no pressure or expectation to give.
Whether someone is struggling financially, curious about a subject or simply looking to meet people, they are welcome here without judgement.
What’s in It for You?
Sharing your time can also help you:
Introduce your work, business or organisation to a local audience.
Meet new people, potential clients and collaborators.
Build your profile and receive useful feedback.
Make a positive difference in your community.
Above all, you’ll be giving people access to an opportunity they may otherwise be unable to afford.
Helping More People Take Part
With the cost of everyday living putting pressure on so many people, paying for a talk, workshop or event can feel out of reach. There are wonderful opportunities to learn and connect, but the costs soon add up especially when several things interest you.
We would love to offer more free events at The Hub, giving people the chance to discover something new, find support and meet others without worrying about whether they can afford it.
To make this possible, we’re inviting people with knowledge, skills or experience to give a little of their time. Even an hour could open a door for someone, spark an idea or help them feel less alone.
Together, we can make more of these opportunities available to our community.
Let’s Make Learning Accessible
Our aim is to offer an additional way for people to learn, ask questions, try something new and discover opportunities without worrying about cost.
